Terms of Service
Last updated 31 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Taska when you use our app or website. Please read them: by creating an account or using Taska, you agree to them.
What Taska is
Taska is a marketplace that connects people who need tasks done (Posters) with people who do them (Taskers). In these terms, “Taska”, “we” and “us” mean the company that runs Taska.
We provide the platform, not the work. Taskers are independent: they aren’t our employees or agents, and they decide which tasks to take and how to do them. The agreement to do a task is between the Poster and the Tasker. We don’t guarantee the quality or outcome of any task, but we hold payments and help settle disputes as described below.
Who can use Taska
- You must be at least 16. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian.
- You may have one personal account. The details you give us must be true and kept up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account; tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
Identity verification
Taskers can be verified by sending photos of their Ghana Card, which our team reviews. A verified badge means we checked the card matched the person; it isn’t a guarantee of skill, honesty or behaviour. Use your own judgement, read reviews, and keep conversations and payments in the app.
Posting tasks and making offers
- Posters must describe tasks honestly, including the location, timing and what is needed.
- Taskers make offers with a price. When a Poster accepts an offer and pays, the Tasker is assigned and both agree to do their part.
- Only post tasks that are legal and that you are allowed to have done. See the community rules for what isn’t allowed.
Payments and fees
- All prices are in Ghana cedis (GHS).
- The Poster pays when accepting an offer. Taska holds the payment while the task is done, so the Tasker knows the money is there and the Poster knows it won’t be released before the work is finished.
- When the Tasker marks the task as done and the Poster confirms it, the payment is released to the Tasker’s Taska Wallet, minus Taska’s service fee. Taskers see the fee, and what they will receive, before they make an offer. Posters pay no service fee.
- Taskers withdraw from their Wallet to mobile money. Payments and payouts are processed by Paystack, whose terms also apply.
- Keep payments for tasks found on Taska in the app. Payments made outside Taska aren’t protected, and we can’t help recover them.
- Taskers are responsible for any tax due on what they earn.
Cancellations and refunds
- A Poster can cancel a task before work starts. If it was already paid for, the held payment is refunded.
- Once work has started, a task can’t simply be cancelled. If something goes wrong, either side can open a dispute.
Disputes
If you and the other person disagree about a task after work has started, open a dispute in the app. The payment stays held while our team reviews what happened, including the task details and your chat. We will then do one of three things: pay the Tasker, refund the Poster, or let the task carry on. Our decision on where the held payment goes is final within Taska, though it doesn’t affect any rights you have under the law.
Community rules
To keep Taska safe and fair, don’t:
- post or do anything illegal, dangerous or sexual;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
- give false information, pretend to be someone else, or use someone else’s Ghana Card;
- ask people to pay or communicate outside Taska to avoid the fee or our protections;
- post fake reviews, or pressure someone into a review;
- share other people’s personal information without their permission;
- spam, scrape the app, or try to break into or overload our systems.
You can report a task or a person from the app. We review reports and may remove content, hold payments, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post, such as task descriptions, photos and reviews. You allow Taska to display and use it to run and promote the service. Only post content you have the right to share.
Suspending and closing accounts
You can delete your account at any time in the app, once you have no tasks in progress and no money left in your Wallet. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk, and will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
Our responsibility to you
We work to keep Taska available and safe, but we provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t responsible for how users behave, for the work Taskers do, or for losses that don’t come directly from our own failure to follow these terms. Where we are responsible, our liability for a task is limited to the amount paid for it through Taska. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under Ghanaian law that can’t be removed.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Taska grows. If we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Taska after that, you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.
